Republicans love to hammer Obama on his "failed stimulus policies," and yet, according to an investigation conducted by Newsweek and the Daily Beast, Republicans themselves have over the past few years sought out and at times received billions of dollars in government aid for their own pork-ridden pet projects. Included in this list are Eric Cantor, Allen West, Rick Perry, Michelle Bachmann and even Ron Paul -- all of whom continually decry Obama's purportedly wasteful federal spending.
That they have been trying to take advantage of available stimulus funds is not the issue at hand. What irritates liberals like myself is when a Republican says one thing, and yet does the exact opposite. Suffice it to say, to constantly deride the president for passing a stimulus bill seems awfully hypocritical when the criticizer himself takes advantage of these very same funds for his own personal projects.
