New Report Reveals U.S. Ranks Worse Than Most Developed Countries In Social Justice

According to Rush Limbaugh, the Occupy Wall Street movement is full of "smug, stupid idiots" who are being used. Perhaps. But according to a report released today by the Bertelsmann Foundation, the United States ranks under 26 other developed nations in social justice. Huffington Post reporter Dan Froomkin explains:

"It's one thing if you live in a market economy where everyone has the same shot at success. It's quite another if fortune favors the fortunate. And the new survey found that when it comes to 'equal opportunities for self-realization,' the U.S. ranks 27 out of 31 Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development member states, well behind not just Northern European countries like Norway and Denmark, but even countries like Hungary, Poland, Italy and France. The only countries whose citizens fare even worse are Greece, Chile, Mexico and Turkey."

This comes only a day after the Congressional Budget Office confirmed that the rich keep getting richer.

Maybe I'm just a biased liberal, but it seems to me that those "smug, stupid idiots" from the Occupy Wall Street movement are making a pretty damn valid point about the state of affairs here in the good ol' USA.

Former LRA Slave Rebukes Rush Limbaugh's Outrageous Statements

On October 12, President Obama deployed 100 U.S. troops into Uganda to combat the Lord's Resistance Army, a recognized Christian terrorist organization led by Joseph Kony, a self-proclaimed prophet who claims to be the voice of God. Since its formation in 1987, the LRA has committed countless atrocities against its own people, including rape, murder and the enslavement of children.

Two days later after the deployment, the world's only lucid survivor of a lobotomy, Rush Limbaugh, defended the LRA and then had the audacity to accuse Obama of purposefully targeting Christians.

"They [the LRA] are fighting the Muslims in Sudan. And Obama has sent troops, United States troops, to remove them from the battlefield, which means kill them. So that’s a new war, a hundred troops to wipe out Christians in Sudan, Uganda."

Limbaugh's outrageous and insensitive comments did not sit well with Evelyn Apoko, a 22-year-old woman who was just a mere child when the LRA abducted her and forced her into slavery.

"My heart breaks when I hear your message about the LRA. I experienced first-hand the pain and hatred of humanity in the LRA. I have witnessed the spirit of Joseph Kony and it is not from God. Abducting young people from their home and forcing them to become something that is not meant to be."

Sadly, Rush has yet to make an official apology. Knowing him, I don't expect one either.
