Introducing The Donator-in-Chief

Ever since the beginning of his term in 2008, President Barack Obama has made it a personal mission to read 10 letters from the public every single day. Added to that, he always hand-writes a response to 2 or 3 of them. And even more shocking (in a good way) is that the president -- our president -- has, on more than one occasion, written a personal check to Americans who are struggling especially hard through this economic crisis. Below is a statement the President made to author Eli Saslow.

"It’s not something I should advertise, but it has happened. Some of these letters you read and you say, ‘Gosh, I really want to help this person, and I may not have the tools to help them right now. And then you start thinking about the fact that for every one person that wrote describing their story, there might be another hundred thousand going through the same thing. So there are times when I’m reading the letters and I feel pained that I can’t do more, faster, to make a difference in their lives."
Meanwhile, Republicans continue to ignore the plights faced by most Americans, while simultaneously acting like Obama is just out to win the 2012 election. Nice try, but in the words of Reverend Al Sharpton, "We got you!"
